Bring a premium traditional meat cut to your kitchen with FZ Kid Goat Halves / Cabrito Medio ±3kg (per kg)—a frozen half young goat, prized for its delicate flavour, tender texture and lean, refined meat. Known in Spain as cabrito, this speciality cut is ideal for chefs creating authentic Mediterranean, Spanish, Portuguese, Middle Eastern and Latin-inspired dishes.

Perfect for slow roasting, oven baking, charcoal grilling, braising or festive sharing menus, kid goat offers a lighter, more elegant flavour than mature goat, with excellent presentation when served whole or portioned. Sold per kg with an approximate weight of ±3kg per half, it is a strong choice for restaurants, butchers, caterers and premium kitchens looking for a distinctive centrepiece cut.

Storage

  • Keep frozen: Store at -18°C or below.
  • Defrost safely: Thaw slowly in the fridge at 0–5°C in a covered tray or container.
  • After defrosting: Keep refrigerated and cook within 24 hours, or follow the pack label if different.
  • Do not refreeze once thawed.
  • Cook thoroughly before serving.

Serving & cooking suggestions

  • Spanish-style roast cabrito: Roast with garlic, rosemary, thyme, white wine and extra virgin olive oil until tender and golden.
  • Slow braise: Cook gently with onions, peppers, tomato, paprika and stock for a rich, rustic stew.
  • Charcoal grill: Marinate with lemon, garlic, oregano and olive oil, then grill for a smoky Mediterranean finish.
  • Premium sharing dish: Serve with roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables, romesco, aioli or a bright herb salsa.
  • Chef tip: Because kid goat is naturally lean, cook gently and avoid drying it out—low, slow heat or covered roasting gives the best tenderness.
